I have a brake booster taking up a swag load of room under the bonnet, it is on the RH side where it should be (kinda)

When i mounted the booster i had it facing backwards, with the main big section facing the back and the fluid lines facing the front & the breather facing the top.

What i was thinking of doing was putting it up under the drivers side guard with the pipes running through the inner panel.

Has anybody ever done this/seen this? would it be a good idea? more to the point would it fit and still work correctly?

Any other ideas? I hate the look of it under there and it takes up so much damn space!!

Cheers

Rohan

Never heard/seen one under the guard, i don't think there would be too much room there.

I've seen it mounted under the dash like the works car's did. That's where i'm putting mine after the conversion.

I've seen a few mounted up under the guard , fits and works ok but make sure you put an extra cover over the breather grille to stop water splahing in there when driving in the rain as the tyre's flick a lot of water up inside the guard .

Is it really that big?

I was told to increase my braking by adding a booster, new drums & pads.
I havent got the dosh for a nice set of disks, so this is my other option.
If it takes up most of the right hand side of the engine bay, I may think again.

Any pics around of similar?

In the boot?

that makes for alot of extra brake fluid lines!!!

plus i have a RH tank also!

less room again!

I have my booster mounted under the gaurd on my MK2 Cooper S, make up some sort of guard to stop rocks & road crap damaging it.

Just make sure that the filter/breather is not going to block up with mud/dirt.
The booster also needs to be angled slightly uphill (the pointy end higher than the big end) this helps when you are bleeding the brakes.
