I could take offence to this comment, as a V8 driver mine was rarely in a straight line.

Hay, it's not about the car, it's not about the venue, it's about the people that come here. Peter Dwyer, Mayor of Hay NSW.

Thats not body roll. its the car using its suspension properly, it had 400 pound srpings in the front & 200 in the rear, it was easy to induce over steer that way, sideways is the right way.

As a previous 265 Hemi Valiant owner, I agree. On dirt, anyhow.
Loved the dirt road from Hume Hwy up to Wombeyan caves... 8)

Sorry if I caused offence 2 s'Ss Didn't mean it. Being new to Oz I really haven't been in a V8 situ !!!!!!!! Only V8's I ever came a cross in the UK were a couple of rich boy mustangs. Which held no ground against a 1750 maxi engined mini especially on the twistys we have in Scotland. So please accept my apologies By the way you had to have a few bob to be able to run V8's (Fuel prices!!!!!!)
Cheers
M.U.

Naw - V8s arnt that expensive to run - we have a 308 one tonne ute and its actually quite economical provided you stay off the loud pedal.

The reason is that it spends a lot of its time on country roads at 2k rpm. A load on the back makes little or no difference to the economy (within reason)

We had a 2.6 litre ute and that used more petrol because the throttle was more open more often.
