Oh yeah 9YaTaH, you must have gone on Skyline Blvd/ Highway 9 down to Santa Cruz.

Morris has done that trip before, and it's great for a Mini. I live about 3 hours North of Santa Cruz, in Santa Rosa and this is probably one of the best places in the country for Mini driving. Thousands of miles of twisty 2 lane back roads that stay in excellent condition because we don't get snow and it never gets too hot either.

Fun fun fun! 8)

Hey all...

I'm Pete, from Canberra. I've just bought my first mini - a '76 panel van, with a mildly worked 1100 in it. trying to find parts and so on for it brought me in here... hope to see some of you around once I get her on the road!

Welcome Pete. Vans are getting fairly sought after now.
Hope you find the bits you are after :)

the mini club is on my list of "to join" :D

I had a better look at the suspension on the weekend, and it actually seems to be in reasonable nick. add to that that the previous owner had hilo's fitted means i.l probably stick ith whats there, for now at least.

The Sump plug won its fight, so its getting drilled and re-tapped today... after that, i've just got to find an assortment of bolts and screws to fix everything back in with (anyone suggst a good place to get some?), and then get some rust fixed up and she will be back on the road...

Legend! Thanks mate.

Had Alex from Capital Thread Repair come out and fix up the sump plug. Extremely impressed with the job, his service and the cost - $100 to drill and grind the old plug out, clean out the bottom of the sump and tap and fit a new plug.

Guess I should create a new thread to document my mini journey huh :D

yes, i got my finally decision how the gauges come into the dashboard.

http://people.freenet.de/turbo-mpi/brett3.jpg

http://people.freenet.de/turbo-mpi/brett4.jpg

the 2 big ones are the speedo (right side) und the rev meter (left one)

he six gauges are all 52mm and got a new design (the needle stands downwards and the scale is printet on overhead projektor foil and backlighted with EL-Foil)

the alu plate (the lower left quater) is the groundplate for the switches and controll LEDs (look at the picture above, there is the rev meter and the speedo too.

the gauges:
above (from left to right): voltmeter / amperemeter / oil pressure / oil temp
beneath (f.l.t.r): boost / water temp
