have you got the tools? air compressor, spray gun etc etc? make sure you use etch primer on bare metal its much better then the standard primer
theres probly a couple hundred $$$'s diff inbetween 2pk and acr paint... you'll need about 4 ltrs

2pk spay is very bad for you, but so long as ou wear a proper mask you'll be ok..pref get an air fed mask...and also if you dont use a oven when you use 2pk you'll actually get more of a glossy finish....true
wouldnt recomend using black paint because it shows up every crap detail on the car, acrylic paint is fine but as other people have said if you want a gloss finish you'll have to do lots of clear coats.
drying times vary, but acrylic paint can dry in 5 mins in warm weather, 2pk takes ages and thats why people use baking ovens...takes about 2 days to dry normal (non oven)
are you sanding the car back or just going to paint it up?

Things like gloves are a good idea in addition to a mask to be "ok". Some of the chemicals in there can leach through the skin, which isnt a good thing (plus it sucks trying to get the crap off afterwards). Gloves are a good idea at all times really when using any type of paint/chemical type things.

What sort of paint are you using that it takes 2 days to dry?
Or by saying to dry, are you actually meaning for it to fully harden?

can also get the nasty stuff by not wearing eye protection, the moisture in your eyes absorbs it... nasty nasty stuff

You might need to break out a pair of the sisters swimming goggles...

i mean to fully cure (harden) and also factor in melbourne weather temp's. 2pk paint takes a long time to cure without an oven. good point about gloves, forgot to mention that, but more of the same a full paper or plastic suit is also advised, and when i say mask im talking about a full face mask. i dont suppose this spray job would be happening in a spray booth with extractor fans and water troffs? if not probly just go for acrylic paint. its easy and drys quick. when your spraying 2pak you dont need to use asmuch because the paint spreads out more....its almost like using oil based paint on timber....it settles
my 2cents

bull shite that Acrylic can not get a good glossy shine.

My car is sprayed in Acrylic and it has a great shine. and it does
not have a clear. and u would have to be a really stupid perso to
burn the paint when buffing it!!

There is NOTHING wrong with acrylic mate. it is a good paint for
the home spray job. and it is ILLEGAL to spray it wihtout a booth
