Spark plug leads are more about marketing than anything else I feel.

No really, the Bosch ones are better

I had the top gun leads before swapping to Bosch, will never turn back. Maybe all the same when new, you're right about that...

Well, the reason i went for these TopGun leads was because i wanted leads with the right angled ends... i went to Repco and they said they didn't have any like that and that i should go to an auto-electrician to get some made. I went to Bursons and they told me they couldn't get them but i could get some made. I said why not and the ones you see are what i got. I didn't choose them as such.

Sorry Molina, I didn't mean to sound rude  I ran top guns for about 18 months before changing over. Although I must admit that my leads looked like they've run 100,000kms! :?

That's ok, next time i'll know what to do won't i?

Although, do any other brands have the right angled ends? I don't know what other people's distributors look like but mine is damn close to the grille and if i have the straight ended leads then they have to do a 180 degree turn in the space of 40-60mm depending on the which lead it is.

Do the electronic distributors stick out further than the standard ones? I have only owned one mini and thus haven't really had a chance to compare it with unmodded ones. I don't know what the norm is.

They could shorten it. Or you could do it yourself. crap, it is not rocket science!
You just slip the rubber end up the lead and pry off the metal end, a bit of work with the pliers to open up the metal end so that you can fit the lead back in.
You cut the lead to the length that you want BUT VERY IMPORTANT.... The core of the lead must be left longer than the outer insulation, about 2cm longer.
You fold the thin core over and push the lead back in to the metal end and crimp it with pliers. Push the insulator back down over the metal end.

I've done this. It works. I made these using an old Champion set, because I too wanted right angles at both ends. These are showing a good spark on all four cylinders using a Nissan dizzy and GT40r coil. A squirt of wd40 down the rubber boot made it really easy to slide off the original boots on both the original straight plugs and the cannibilised right angle plugs.

Hmmm, I also used a set of Champion leads.
