Hey mr 666 check this guys restoration project out:

http://www.theminiforum.co.uk/forums/in ... 9130&st=60

That's page 5 where he's up to painting the body black... Go back and read some of the previous pages if you're interested. He's done a really good job, it'll give you an idea of what you've got to do.

mate if i was you id use a 2 pac gloss black, you then get a shine straight out of the gun, no need to polish, its not all that difficult to spray, maybe slightly more then acrylic but when you make a mistake, just rub it back and do it again. if possible, get it sprayed with a good quality spray gun, it will give you a heaps better finish, and make sure u clean the gun thouroghly and you will have no dramas.

the ones we have at work are 700 bucks each (dont go that expensive  ) but theve been around for about 15 years apparently, and work like they were bought that day.

have fun

sean

There are panel shops out there that will hire out their boot/oven on the weekend for a nominal fee if you ask around. That way you can spray 2pak and not worry about compressors, guns etc just ensure all the prep is done throughy and the person spraying i up to the job ( you might want to ask a spraypainter from another panel shop to do it for you for some $$$$ )
If you want a shiny black finish 2pac will be better not to mention the durability and lifespan of the paint finish.
The paint on mine is over6 years old.
