What type do people use and how much?

Im using some Singer oil and have put enough in my twins so that when the piston is fitted to the dashpot about 1/2 in from the thread i feel it contact the oil.

I had tried auto trans fluid some time ago but really remember if there was any difference in throttle response?

I also use singer sewing machine oil! I don't thing it would matter how much as long as it's more on the full side, than empty.

In twin HS4s on Barney (1293) running #6 needles, I tried 20W/50 motor oil, then Singer 3 in 1 oil. Both were too thick and it would go way rich just off idle (checked with A/F meter).
I'm now using Dexron III ATF fluid, and it's sweet.:)

Hmmmm? Maybe i should revert back to ATF then? Waiting on some QW needles for the twin HS2 1/14's that are on my 1330cc. Tried an M but to lean, got AH2's now but is a little rich. So gunna try lean it out a little with some QW's????? Once i get them in ill drop some ATF in.

My HIF 6 went lean on full throttle acceleration with ATF so now it's got HPR30 back in it and it is way better. (Dodgy Dick Smith O2 meter but better than nothing).
