ok, just trying to grab some thoughts about the Muster & what you guys think it could have been

ok,,,forget about the weather, we couldn`t do diddly squat about that, but are there any other things that you`d like to see, or evenb stuff that you`d rather didn`t see etc etc

& also how was your day too???

& yeah, i know,,,my Bimmer twinky was obviously the highlight of the day :-) :-) :-)

so, give some feedback & i`ll pass it on to the commitee

Move it to a weekend other than the one that the Hay Mini NATIONALS occupy!!! :P :P

Seriously though, you'd probably get a MUCH bigger contingent from south of the border if you did that - not to mention that'd leave more QLD'ers free to attend Hay (I know it's a hike, but we had people from Perth last year so you guys have no excuses!!!).

I heard a rumour that you guys might at least do this temporarily next year as it's a big one for hay - 40th anniversary. Can you confirm/deny this??

EDIT:

from those who went???

Oops - just read that bit - Sorry!!!!
Oh well, my suggestion still stands :P

matt theres a conversation in the events and photos section minimuster check it

BUT as i said there i love the muster great day however each year it seems to lose me a little. First time i went it was awesome race track, motokahna, stalls and show and shine

i just feel it needs more then just looking at cars as after 5 or so years the cars are similar each year and ive seen them before type thing (some new good ones but you know)

OK so how does it get better (NOTE i think highly of all the vounteers who give time for this thing)
1. Change of location maybe somewhere things such as Race, Motokahnas, Sprints or such can be done
2. Maybe a dyno if number 1 can be done
3. An educational lecture/presentation by guest speaker on SOmething mini relater - panel beating, spray painting, rust control, adjusting brakes, replacing points or something
4. MORE stalls to buy stuff
5. Maybe a stand or tent that has some mini history in it maybe an ex bathurst car or something with some info on it

Just suggestions i realise that there are probably reasons that some of these cant work but its an event you have to make it an event not just a car lot oh and a place to meet and chat of course

WHile I don't qualify for the "people that went" , I will say a possible change of date , June long weekend is a busy time , is there any other long weekend suitable ? I'm itching to get to the muster , I went to the june event at Lakeside in 2000(I think) and had a ball despite the rain , but I also want to get to Hay , most likely next year for the big one .

There needs to be more to do Matt. Seriously, rocker cover racing? What on earth is that?

It might be a liability thing but what about the motokahna (sp?) or other things the involve people and their cars.

I totally agree with having mini power Runs on a DYNO..

Everyone can strut there stuff & show that they have some muscle to go with the SHINE! instead of being all Show & SHine

I am still trying to work on that for Minis Down under.

As a nice segway, I hope some of those nice minis at the queensland muster will make their way down for Minis Down Under!!

can i point out also people, that these events rely very heavily on getting sponsorship
etc from people, so im sure Qld Mini club has great plans, but it all comes down
to lack of the green stuff!!

If presented with the option of say $50 to get your car on the dyno I'm sure you would have a fair few people dig deep.

I thought it was a good day, and thanks to the volunteers!

As for activities, apart from standing and looking, there wasn't a lot of anything happening.

I reckon some hands on demonstrations would be really good. Get some of those mini businesses who are members of the club to priovide us with 1/2 an hour or an hour on a certain topic.

Publicise the topics ahead of time, and with 2 or 3 different topics.

Also, move the weekend to spring or earlier in autumn. The weather is never good to pull crowds of cars or people.

I also agree, have something else such as a dyno event.

How about leaving the rocker cover racing out of it? Or make it especially aimed at the kiddies, which is all it was this year anyway, the novelty certainly wore off or something!

How about lower the price for the 'trade stall' and get some more to show up! & have a boot sale section, free to those selling out of their minis. Will get more to bring in those few odds and ends worthy of selling, not the big piles of junk nobody cares about.

So,
Demonstrations
Move to a better weekend
Dyno
Change rocker cover racing
More Trade stalls
Boot sale

& I'm happy to volunteer!

Matt
