Well i got a parking fine tonight, but i am not complaining about that!

This is kind of funny, the ticket read
Quote:
Ticket number: 47523252

Date: 16/06/2006
Time: 09:01PM
ID: 144
Location: Gray Street Adelaide
Vehicle Type: ???
Vehicle Reg: SGF419
Offence: Contravene no stopping sign-rule 167

So the humorous thing is that mini vans are to obscure for them to even know the vehicle type!!! Just thought i would share my little fine with you!

please dont make this thread a rant about how the government uses this to only raise revenue etc etc.

cheers

it really pisses me off, because it used to be easy to find a free park in adelaide city for an hour or two, now if you can find one its only like 15 minutes or 30 mins, and EVERYTHING is pay parking, it makes me SICK because its only about REVENUE, and they drive customers away..
i NEVER used to use the parking garages, now i do because its so bad.

My guess is that the inspector couldnt give a rats ass about the type of car - all he needs is the rego number before he can move on to the next car.

What does as fine like that cost these days? My last one was $28....... years ago.

Matt

As Austin minis weren't made here when I first registerd mine and it still is an Austin oo car on the reg sticker and paper.

You'll probably find the parking inspector is not of an english specking back ground and he hopefully went back and reashed it and is now a mini nut like the rest of us.

Doesn't your leyland van have a badge?

Steve

All day i keep looking to see and it was aok... come 5.25 (not exzagerating either) i turn my back to go help someone,, come bakc and look one last time as i grab my bag and for fark sake there was a $75 parking ticket!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why were you booked - your not on yellow lines - time expiry

We paid a whole lot more than that - thirty odd years we arrived in london and decided to buy a Khombi from in front of Aust House. We did the cash thing etc and were racing away to get it insured etc. The just previous owner said i will just move it away a bit so buyers arn't climbing all over it. We said sure.

When we got back there was no van. The previous owner had moved it to a no parking area and it was towed away and impounded. It cost us over $200 to get it back and it was a khombi we had only driven around the block once AND it was only our second day in London.
