NSW play by the rules, but you also make the most of the rules.

Err, actually the Mini Car club of SA make the rules, it has nothing to do with NSW. I have said this in a previous post that Spaceperson had a whine in. They are the rules, don't like in, complain to the organisers or just shut up. No one wants to here your little moan. You will also find the NSW people don't really care about winning the GBS or the like as a club, there out to win there catagory and have a good time. NSW certainly doesn't go out of it's way to have cars in every catagory, it just happens that way mostly. Saying that NSW hasn't run an 1100 in class B for more years than i can remember so that should proove that we run what we brung. And we certainly don't put gun drivers into Gun cars to get the best possible chance of taking out the catagory or the GBS. the only people that do this are the club that are whining about non mini's..... grow up people, Have fun for once rather than be so competetive and hard nosed.....

Spaceboy, what's wrong with running non mini's? There are classes for them so we run cars in those classes, the 240Z came 5th outright, that just deos'nt happen, it's get driven to the place by a very good driver, as the same for the Mazda 121, it was driven by 2 very good drivers as well

We NSW people play by the game as the rules are set, if you don't like it piss off, im sick to death of you whinging Hotbricks lead by the greatest whinger of all time Adrian Flynn, if Adrian drove any where near as good as he shot off he's mouth he would be 1st outright every year, most of you are Flynn puppets.

So if you don't like people who play by the rules don't go to Hay. One more thing, Hotbricks say they win by only using mini's, here's a newsflash, a MOKE is NOT a mini.

Im seriously thinking og bring a rear wheel drive to run in the khana next year & my Cooper S to run in the Hay hero's, just to annoy Hotbricks.

bla bla bla mini nationals are for minis.

you're the one who was whinging you didnt get the GBS..

i am not a member of hotbricks. But i'll tell adrian what you said about him.

a mini moke is a mini.

Correct me if I'm wrong. But weren't the rules changed some years ago stating that non-Minis would not score points towards the GBS???

39 years ago John Stonie, Gus Staunton, Tony French etc thought it'd be a good idea to have a bit of a social get together somewhere remotely central to all.................that being Hay. They didn't care what you drove in the khana and not until about 10 years ago no one else gave a rats either.

The whole Nationals weekend is about catching up with old and new friends, socialising with like minded Mini enthusiasts, bolstering the local economy a bit and competing in a bit of friendly interstate rivalry.

Winning the GBS is not the highest priority on the minds of the MCCNSW members over the weekend but the socialising mentioned above.

I think some Mini enthusiasts should do a little research about what the Nationals is about and the tradition of the weekend. Some years ago when MMCSA won the teams trophy their President of the time didn't even know what the initials GBS stood for......................I think that speaks volumes.

I'm there for the partying, my friends, the locals, the fancy dress/presentation night, the drinking, the BBQ's, seeing Doogie destroy his marque    ...............Oh and cheering on my team mates in the motorkhana.

well if the rules were changed it wasnt for that
cause they gave out points for non mini rwd and non mini fwd and there was only one off them in the classes so they could have came last and still got the same points :?

in the end it is the MINI NATIONALS

come on, who gives a crap, surely this isnt the most important event in the world, your all making it sound like a bloody formula one round, who cares, other cars can compete, maybe not get team points but they can compete, and really, its about having a good time in the one spot with all the minis, i had "FUN" which im sure is what this is all about in the long run!

If Hay was all about serious all out warfare and bitter competition then i wouldn't even think about going.

I have no special interest in motorkanas, having done all that nearly forty years ago, for the sake of the motorkana as the weekend is bigger and broader than that. Its about having fun, being with like minded people, looking at classic cars, I suppose the odd tipple and yes the competition.

If the balance of any of these things changes and the rivaly increases to a point similar to the America's Cup boat races then the entire hay weekend concept weakens. I dont think anyone really wants that !!!!!

when you have clubs running non minis for points then it becomes a bit nasty and undermines the friendly spirit of the event, thats all im saying.

Space person, they ran those cars because they wanted to, not to win more points.... why can't you let it go.... We had fun and you are just making what was a great fun weekend for most just a little less memorable.
Lets just let it go, and remember the fun ok?
