Sorry to see that happen - as long as you are ok.

I have some of the headlight surrounds if you are looking for some - may have a grille somewhere too. PM me if you are after some.

Hooroo

A friend of mine had the same kinda thing happen..... but his car bounced off a rock wall.

It could have been a combination of many things..... worn/old tyres, aquaplaning...... who knows.....

I hope you kept the sign that was on the pole  if there was one

Bloody hoons!!!!!!

Nah i did the same thing yrs ago, but came round a roundabout sideways and ended up loosing it, mounted the gutter, and flatened the roundabout sign.......Had to replace the entire apron panel, grille/surround/bumper/repair the bonnet!!!

I was not a happy man!

sucks man.... as you said though It could have been worse.

When I was on my p's i had a crash and wrote off my mini. Once you have a bit of a bingle you are usually a better driver for it afterwards.

This is not meant to imply anything on any one person, however i noticed the red "P" plates.
I am a firm believer that everyone, once they have 6-12 months driving experience , do a defensive (advanced) driving course.

Our driving training system is so focused reducing road trauma by using police and fines that drivers dont really get taught how react when things go wrong.

Pilots, for example, dont progress in their training until they have proved that they can handle all sorts of emergency procedures. Driving is really no different as emergencies pop up all the time without anyone being a hoon.

Many years back, authorities used the slogan "Young drivers are the most skilled but the most killed" From that single issue driving training went backwards and authorities wont admit now that lack of driver skills is a major cause of accidents.

Glad you were smart enough to have the speed down in the wet,
and it's easily fixable.

For me, P-plates + Falcon ute + wet = tree
Speed & power oversteer. Much damage

Mate you were the only one driving the car and while you say you were not clowning you made a mistake in the decision of how fast to drive in the conditions, easy peasy a lack of experience as Mike has alluded to, now learn the lesson and don't make the mistake again as next time it might be someone important to you and not a post :D
