NB... they DO sell rubber gaskets - for those of you who think paper type gaskets soak up the water :lol: :lol:

yes should face the ground..how ever the gasket wasnt a good fit...also had i left it, yes it would soak up the water.

You could I suppose fill up the hollow area with bog and be done with the water problem. Would that work?

in the hollow area of mine the surface has been coated with rust protection..

Ive prepared and finished the surfaces well for a better chance..if i dont need to repaint the car in 10 years ill be lucky.

so its all good for me
