After Meeni's post a few weeks ago regarding roll cages & there costs, i had a little chat to him in Hay about cages, here are some pics of cars the had proper cages fitted to them & had big accidents, all people involved walked away from these big hits.

Hay, it's not about the car, it's not about the venue, it's about the people that come here. Peter Dwyer, Mayor of Hay NSW.

The Galant is a excellent example, it clipped a bank on the inside of the corner, the car flipped onto its side & slid roof 1st into a tree, the 2 occupants got out (unhurt) pushed the car back onto its wheels, changed a flat tyre & drove it away.

The car was also repaired & is still out there somewhere rallying.

Reminds me of another one.

Many years ago we turned up for a bit of a bash around at a track day. One of the guys pulled out a set of flame proof averalls and got a bit of a ribbing about taking things too seriously. As he said "I would hate to be traped in a car on fire and my suite was neatly packed away at home". Fire burns just as hot weather you are racing or just having a bit of a bash around.
