Mate!

Actually, there is a dude selling a 1380 with 45mm webber, 2" exhaust (engine is worked!!!) in Lane Cove (Mowbray Rd)

Maybe go and talk to him, tell him you want a test drive then see how it sounds...

Peter.

Cheers do you know hiw number or address. Is it a round nose?

Thanks all. It sounds like I might lose some of the passion if I couldnt hear myself think with a beast such as the one for sale.

The race cam want do any additional Noice but the webber/Dellorto will as the throats are pointing at the inside of the Cabin
Unles you put some seriouse sound deadening infront of it
Exhaust just put a 1.75 on and you will be happier with the performace and noice quiity

Box yer no idea eather

The owner has added a side air filter for the webers induction. Would that reduce the noise if there is still a cover over the fire wall?

Does you lose a lot of power with a 1.75 exhaust?

My 1360 is running a 45 Dellorto with 38 chokes in, big ported head & manifold, and an RE282 cam with 1.5 rockers.
YES, it's friggin' NOISY AS!!
No way I would fit SCCR gears to add to the din. On a road car.

Do you reckon a product like dynamat would make a difference if you insulated the floor, doors, inside if the firewall, roof lining etc and added the bonnet insulation and engine bay insulation?

The owner reckons the gear noise isn't too bad. Its the 2" exhasut that the loud bit. Anyone wanna swap a s/c box for a cooper s box if I buy it?

Oh ya and a 2" exhasut for a 1.75" exhaust?

All sounds like too much trouble.

you can use dynamat but I would not use it all the wrong places. (god I'm still singind it) Ekkk
just put it on the inside of the firewall so to muffle the Weber/Dellorto and other engine sounds. But I use Airconditioner noice reduction, still heave but not as, you don't need it on the whole fire wall aswell.

Still wondering about the "The owner has added a side air filter for the webers" did he tell you what sort of Webber...don't tell me wasn't running a filter :?:

i prolly know nothing but i beleive 2" exhaust would be a DAMN tight fit..if it fit

2in fits fine. Ive got LCB's 2in exhaust, with a straight through muffler n hotdog. Twin 1 1/4's, Yeah its bloody loud. But ive also got a bloody louder stereo to drown it out!!!! But dont mind turning the stereo down when im hittin 7000 rpm through the 1st 3 gears!!!!

Dont think the general public likes the noise tho!!!

ok, sound ... Hmmm how can i describe this .....

My Brick - Turbo 998, running about 0.019" valve clearance, an RE-13T and 1.5:1 rockers .... 2" Straight-through exhaust and lightened flywheel as well as numerous little "noise adders" (Think BOV, Turbo, and others...)

Conversations are possible, but not real easy.. ask Maxi, picked him up at 6am and he heard me coming from about 1/2 a K away ... (Very quiet suburb)

Sound level is similar to sitting on a Sydney "Grey-Rattler" train .....

Its not for comfort....
J

a grey rattler is not too bad. At least its not a red one. They had the doors open. Would you still take your noisy turbo on a country drive to wisemans ferry and still have a good time. Thats what I am considering.
