Still wondering about the "The owner has added a side air filter for the webers" did he tell you what sort of Webber...don't tell me wasn't running a filter :?:

The weber is 45 DCOE Weber. Are these loud?

Yes, but it's music to the ears.. 8)
With good porting and a decent cam, it sounds like a pair of Harleys...

Now now I'm not that bad. :D

Oh you mean the bike. Yeah, they is good.

On the soundproofing note, for every extra horsepower you require you
will need 100g of sound deadening to drop the interior noise 1 decibel.

Therefore, a fast yet quiet mini is an impossible scenario.

Would you still take your noisy turbo on a country drive to wisemans ferry and still have a good time. Thats what I am considering.

doesn't matter how much or little noise a mini makes - you'll always have a GREAT time on a country drive in a mini.... the noise just sounds gooood, especially when you boot it to pass someone driving a commodore or something like an old lady and you go ROARING past them... the best way to pass is to speed up from a fair way back so that you're at full noise when you get beside them - I love that :D

My old clubby had a 1.75" exhaust on it, mild cam, extractors, and twin SUs. Was freaken loud. I only had a resonator in the exhaust, so I assume a proper muffler would quieten it down.

On the topic of exhausts to fit. I got a 2.5" on my GTI mini. with a highflow cat, hotdog, and large muffler. most runs through tunnel the muffler turns off to exit out 4" tip from left rear of car.

I don't have straight cut gears but otherwise that is what i have, very loud! and the empty back end in the van just bounces the sound round. forget talking  it's yelling. Oh and the dellorto has cute little trumpets on it now too. My mate said he stood out the front of his house after i left the other day and he heard me drive the two or so blocks home round the back of the house and turn the car off. the people on my block love me
