I thinking of volunteering to ref the final :P We may struggle without Brett Emerton in the next game against Italy, he's had a great tournament so far. Having said that the Italians havn't looked that flash so far...

Come on Aussie :D

I love the fact that our only played to be carded out of a game shares his surname with one of the dodgiest areas of Sydney!!

I'm sure that'll offend someone :P

emertons gonna be a big loss!

fifa seriously has to look at their refs! three yellow cards is the funniest thing ever, idiots! if he ever refs again ill be damned!

Jimmy, i beleive it is best u ref the second round!

no three yellow cards mean we get an extra goal!

so far our biggest oppoisition in the world cup has been the ref and the fact that we cant score goals... but we're getting there

what's with all the Viduka hate? he actually had an ok game. people think he doesn't do anything, but he generally keeps two defenders occupied, which frees up an unmarked man also. even if he doesn't score, this is a very useful thing to have.

yeah i dont think viduka played as well this game, but the first two he brilliant, he deserves the captaincy and i wasnt a viduka fan pre-world cup.

and dont forget we would have won if it wasnt for the ref! who blew full time when we put that last goal away which is stil controversial cause u cant call full time during play, i believe the ref thought the keeper would get the ball and then it'd be over. silly mistake i say.

yeah those 3 yellows were ridiculous. thumbs down to the player as well for not walking when he got his second yellow. the third yellow was after the whistle too, why would you bother? headlines i suppose.

we deserved to win, i think our third goal shoulld have counted but maybe not kewells??? he looked offside to me! the rules state you cant be offside from a set play (free kick, corner...) but kewell recieved the ball from a header??? ,akes up for japans offside goal me thinks.

aussie aussie aussie! see you bright and early on tuesday morning!!!

Damn right, Fifa Fairplay?? What's worse I think that's the guy that was actually born here in Australia :?

Kewell did look just offside offside but he should have scored with the previous shot from the top of the 6 yard box, he fired it straight at the keeper  . Easy to criticise from the couch though i guess :P :D

What I don't understand is that the 3 yellow card guy was marking Viduka. Even as a weekend hacker soccer player you know when your marker is on a yellow, so how / why did our captain not point this out to the ref? :?

good point

one other thing, just what does the U.S. have to say now? the "easy beats" made it to the second round and the U.S. has been sent packing!

ha ha
