Went down to the local U-pull-it (pick-a-part) outdoor wrecking yard today with the cash from my lotto win......

Picked up a pair of Honda Civic disc brake calipers (the solid disc type) - $20 bucks each.

Thought that was a fair deal........ but then.....

D4R85 electronic distributor (out of an 80's Astra, same as the pulsar N12 one) for a mini conversion..... came with cap, leads AND coil..... for $20  couldnt believe my luck 8)

Gotta go back there to collect a Gemini starter motor (can be modified to fit to the mini of course).... theyre $27 each (which is $100 less than brand new).

Acxcording to the price board, I shouldve been charged 60 or 70 bucks for the dizzy, plus 5 for the coil, plus 7 for the leads........

A bargain indeed....

I guess I couldve asked if that price was correct..........

Are there instructions anywhere for modding the Gemini starter motor?

Thanks!
Peter.

Peter.

You just need to slot the 2 boltholes in the flange a little with a round file.
But if you have an S oil cooler in the usual place, it won't fit in there..

I was wondering if it was the southern or northern suburbs one.I know there was a couple of dizzys still left at the northern one a month ago and plenty of gemini starters.

I went to the southern one..... and only had enough time to walk up ONE row of cars before they closed the gates.

Would like to get there early one day and have a good poke around....

Tip: take a sack truck or a small wheel barrow. Too bloody hard trying to carry a good assortment of tools ASWELL as the parts you want to take home.....
