Now I will be honest and say I know nothing about mechanics of cars, but from looking at pictures around the place I think my engine bay is very bare, also I would like to know if my engine is Twin Carby or Carby (If theres a difference and what is it )

Sorry I know nothing but I am wanting to learn about it and but hours into making my mini my life

Hey Mate,

Its good you want to learn. I relly suggest you read, read, read... and you will get there slowly.
Volunteer to come help some people when they are working on their cars and they will be happy to let you hang around... just dont break anything

You have a single carby. Its under the round thing in the middle (air box/filter)
On the engine there are numbers. Find them and post them here and people will tell you what engine it is.

Oh, and as a wise 'Doctor' once told me, better get thee a manual...

Actually , your engine bay isn't bare , it's fuller than a lot of ours . Your's has the plumming fitted for the pollution gear Leyland fitted when pollution produced was measured as a percentage . The pipe across the front of the motor with the 4 smaller pipes going into the cylider head was fed air from a pump running of a second fanbelt . All this did was push fresh air into the exhaust ports and dilute the exhaust gases so the emissions looked better on paper . In reality all it did was drain power form the motor driving the pump and most people took it off anyway . Your's look's a great starting point though I would remove the great hairy sound deadener shaggy thing from the firewall , I set fire to the one in a clubby I had years ago whilst driving , filled the cabin with choking smoke and made a hell of a mess in the engine bay . It seems a real genious idea for them to have put a big shaggy flamable thing in an engine bay ready to catch the flames from open carbs backfiring .....
