I have no idea what cc or anything about my engine, the number is 99H889AJH00429I the end digit could be a 1 or an I not exactly sure.

Also on my plate it has:
Leyland Mini S
022D2S1M09/22336
What does this mean?

Thanks Ian

1977-78 998 Clubby motor with the air pump and smog plumbing.
Many are about (mostly now minus said air pump and smog plumbing).
I have 3 too!

A VERY late 998 motor. Probably 1978 or late 1977.

Last digit should be numeric, not alpha.

Yes.
Supposedly, although it didn't work really. All it did was chew more fuel to drive an air pump to dilute the emissions. Total emissions was more... and power less.

Very easy.... if you want to.
Basically you take the air pump off (if it's still there) and bin all the steel plumbing into the front of the head. The holes can be plugged with grubscrews for neatness, the thread is 7/16" UNF.
The valve on the manifold is removed and the hole plugged.
Keep all the rubber vent lines and the round charcoal canister, they are there for good reasons.
