My book says its a head off a 948 motor from either a Austin A35 or a Morris Minor

It has a 1.0625" inlet valve with a 24.5cc combustiob chamber.

by comparison, the 12G202 head has a 1.156" inlet valve with a 26.1cc combustion chamber.

The sports heads (12G295 and 12G206) have bigger valves again (1.218") and different sized combustion chambers (28.3cc) From the mini car clinic cattle dog.

Are they a good head ?? I dont know but with such small inlet valves I would doubt it. If the car goes okay then ?????

2A629 was also used on original Morris 850.
Mike, your book is a misprint just like mine, the inlets on all these were 1.093".
They are the same inside as any of the round inlet ported smallbore heads- pretty tame in standard condition, but with enough work they can be made to flow.
But a 202 head takes less work. 8)

Would be desirable to someone doing an 850 resto as they were nearly always the first thing replaced in the search for power . Stick it in the corner and keep an eye on the wanted section , sooner or later someone will be looking for one .
