Yeah I think 10K is a lot and doing it off your own bat will obviously reduced those costs considerably. I would say that the pure conversion costs (ie. exc things like bucket seats) for me were in the order of 7-8K including the halfcut (which was $2350). The subframe probably cost me $400-$500 to produce but obviously that is purely materials. 4-5 weekends straight at $80 an hour obviously put this figure way up.

However two things to keep in mind a) he is doing this for a profit, it is a business after all b) maybe he charges that because he has a captive audience and also to bring supply in line with demand. If there were other joints fighting to do this conversion maybe he might reduce his price but then again I gather that Mr Enforcer aint short of jobs to do so maybe he just wouldn't care either way.

Also HP not having a go but $20K for the conversion. If you are including go fast bits (bigger turbo etc) fair enough but for the conversion that seems a tad excessive.

Cheers

Matt

I can make the frame to fit the engine into clubman mini for around $1200. I will be putting up pics and a big post about my frames in the next couple of weeks.

Well... where's the big spill about your frames? :)
I'm sure you have interested a few people by saying this...
