I paid $900 all up for my which included inspections and final report etc. It varies but this is pretty ballpark...

Talking to a Hot Rodder (yeah...I'll talk to just about anyone  ) he said that several mates approached an engineer for a bulk deal on their conversions.....he says his big engined 1950s car cost him around $250.

Might be worth looking into 4EFTE people

I know it's not good and I'm not supporting it.. but there are a few engineers out there that will charge you more.. but will let a few things slide and turn a blind eye to a few things..

For engineering a turbo charged corolla, and a few other things (seats, guages, etc) a bloke I know paid $1600 for it. That's no custom subframe or engine swaps or anything.

Go with someone who knows there stuff (who has been recommended to you), no one else on the road would want to be driving around in a death trap, not even you (i imagine).

Your paying for someone's time to look at these things.

I have heard between $1000 and $2000 (depending on show serious the mods are, whether they have to x-ray welds and stuff) but I have heard some as low as $700 but I guess it depends where you go.

Theres another thread getting around some where about engineering certificates as well.
