my one is not bullet connectors they are like crimped together with a wire joiner, might cut these and replace with new connectors
if this doesnt solve the issue how do you remove the socket from the assembly?

Ummmm its been a while, but, I think you will find there is a springloaded contact sitting on an insulating disk with a dob of solder making the connection.....if you don't want to cut the crimped connections you could maybe just unsolder the connection (I think!!!) :?
