Well it is, that's illegal here too, unless you use the numbers already on the donor shell.
Swapping your original VIN etc onto the donor is a big no-no.

couldnt you just put a radiator cowl and vin plate off a wreck at the wreckers?
my vin plate and vin on the cowl dont match. I had to get a letter from vicroads Head office to OK it.

You could go to a wreckers, write down the number pay for a vin search and then whack them in your mini. or maybe I am simplising this a bit to much

Your Kidding, not on a public forum David. ROFLMAO

Knock, knock, POLICE OPEN UP.
Come out with your hands up. You have 30 seconds to comply.

How would you like it if your car was stolen and someone tried to rebirth it?

didn't mean to piss anyone off.
I guess i didnt really think about it to much. Didnt realise it was illegal. will delete the post.
I thought is was something that could be done legally.

By the way I did not do this.
my understanding of what clubmn was saying was that the car was not infact stolen but it was due to some mix up with the way number are gathered and stored back in the day. I was merely trying to think of a way he could get around vicroads( or whichever state he is in) but i guess i didnt think about enough before typing.

I hope my mini ( or anyone elses) is never stolen, scatched or touched by anyone but its owner.

I will go away now and remove my size 12 from my gob.

Thats OK mate.

Clubmn has not actually stated if the car is in fact stolen or if it is a mistake by the RTA.
