Thats a frustration for you.
Mostly though - the stolen car turns up within three days.
A friend had a car stolen a few years back. It was missing for over a month. It finally got reported in when a resident in a wealthy suburb finally got sick of trying to reverse past it coming out of his driveway.
The car was oringinally parked across his driveway, with the engine running, the lights on and the radio blaring. All the windows were down. He originally drove it clear of his drivewaybut apparently not far enough. Of course, the ran out of petrol, the battery went flat and the car sterted to fill up with water from the rain. The resident tried to moved it frther from his driveway but it wouldn't start.
After a month they finally rang it in - my friend went with a policeman to recover the car and the resident was all good neighbour until the policeman gave him a rocket for a car that now had thousands of dollars damage that was not attributable directly to the theft but to neighbourhood apathy.
Like i said, 90% get returned within three days and basically undamged.
What a top citizen that fella musta bean
Too lazy to move it right out of the way, too lazy to pull a battery lead (well maybe the boot was locked...but he coulda done sumpthin like flick the lights off and stall the engine) and too lazy to wind some windows up
At least the ...soles who stole my Mini once and kept it for three weeks over Xmas had the decency to leave a thank you note and a full tank of fuel
