Mate I recently sold a turbo engine to a guy on the Sunshine Coast, hopefully he gets online here as I dont have any photos of the engine and it was a sweeeeeet bit of equipment. I sold it as a complete unit for $4500 and everything was there, but hadnt been run for a few years. As for which one to go for. The turbos are a bit difficult as you are limited for space to cool the thing unless you dont mind chopping into your car a bit. It doesnt really matter which route you go, as soon as you make big power the box will always be the weak point. As long as you are not brutal with your shifts and opt for a decent box ie 4sp straight cut or better if you have the money should hold together. Prices vary. Power costs money if you want it to be reliable. My turbo motor cost around 8k complete and my supercharged unit owes me 11k, but if I did it again would cost me a lot less as RnD was a bit expensive. Any Q's drop me a line.

Guys I totally agree the drivetrain can handle the power but you do have to be gentle on takeoffs. If the guy who bought my old turbo engine is listening please shout out. It went to Caloundra on the sunshine coast. I didnt build it a guy called Nick Heike did and it was sheer brilliance. Used a kkk dryer, 2 inch SU that was mounted at 45' angle and just fitted under the bonnet. The turbo sat behind no 4 cylinder and an external wastegate sat over the flywheel housing. Was oh so neat and put out around 160-180hp depending on boost. Would run up to 20psi. Was in a black 850 in Sydney before I bought it, if anyone remembers the car from a few years back. He did blow a few boxes though and settled on a straight cut to do the job.
hey low'n blown is this your old motor?
sounds like it from the description, except the carb anyway......
