Very sad news....the guy was a Champion and did so much for Aussie Motor Sport.

Hope Mick Hone is OK (PBs co-Driver in the Daytona)

I just can't believe it.... he's been everything in motorsport for me since I was born, always the smiling gentleman, and absolutely professional, and always had time to help people.... devastated

he raced someones GTR torana at Winton a few years ago in a demo race, and in the pits afterwards he was sitting on the bonnet with the owner, comparing it to his car and what was better, what could be improved to make it handle better - the guy was in awe - as were the 20 or so people crowded around with me...

Definitely a sad day.

As has been said - always accessible and great inpiration for many people in many different ways.

It was the Historic Support race at the Grand Prix acouple of years ago where he was racing a Torana that got me back into the mini - and also motivated to get my circuit license. He was there in the paddock chatting to anyone and every one. (many a joke has now been had at the expensive of my friends wife who dissappeared "for some time" and returned with a Brocky autograph)

At my first race at Eastern Creek in March rolled up for the drivers briefing ... looked across and sitting a few seats across from me there he was. Gave a slight nod of acknowledgement. A great in the sport - but just another racer on the day.

The sport will lesser for his loss of a great ambassador.

well, just goes to show that kinkabell is right - nobody is perfect

he was a genuinely nice guy, at every motor racing event that i saw him at, large or small, he had time for everyone.

at least he got to live the life he loved. take a hint guys - like he said to Matt - live the dream.

Brock killed in accident: report
By staff writers
September 08, 2006 MOTOR sports legend Peter Brock has reportedly been killed in an accident in Western Australia.

Brock was driving in the Targa Tasmania rally, and Sky News has reported that he was killed during a special stage.

Sky News reported Brock's car collided with a tree, knocking it to the floor and leaving him with fatal injuries.

Yes Doogie-Really/really bad news...
Can't believe this-a real shock.
It's so bad.Happened on a narrow tarmac road,down a steep hill,with a sharp LH bend.
The car did not take the bend......hitting the tree
Rest in Peace-Brockie

We don't need this right now.

Doogie

He was a legend in my eyes. A champion in his chosen profession.

I saw a doco on ABC a few weeks back. It was a truly eye opening experience, about a man and how he has left his mark on this nation.

Bev Brock said on the news tonight that he went out doing what he loved. She also said he feared getting old.

Long live the memory of one of Australia's best athletes.

I had seen him at Eastern creek on last sundays Muscle car masters where me and the brother inlaw had him sign parts of my brother inlaws original VK SS Group A.
When you see the development and pedigree in all his HDT road cars and all the contributions he has made to motorsport and what he had done for Holden it was a massive accomplishment.
The man will always be a Ledgend R.I.P mate. :(
