my sentiments exactly....

Steve Irwin and Peter Brock died doing what they loved, knowing the dangers.

In australia alone , an average of 4 people die in road crashes per day, almost 100 people die per day from cancer and 3 people will die from drug related causes.

That's from a total on 126,000 Australians dying every year. Thats 345 per day.

i noticed today... peter brock got eight pages while on the ninth page i noticed a 2cm by 8cm article on a south australian who also died, crashing into a tree.

thought for food...

speaking of which.... i'm about to have dinner...

I think you should edit your post mate, as there are plenty of other people who have made these comments such as blokeinamoke (who did make a farking lame comment in the other Brocky thread). I understand why you wrote what you did but personally I found it offensive.
Matt

When I found out about Peter Brocks death I was shocked. I was shocked that we had lost a great driver. I hope he enjoys that giant curcuit in the sky.

We had seen him driving, winning, talking and selling sheds. However there was a lot about Peter Brock that was not the stuff of idols.

If we celebrate their humanity, instead of celebrity, we would discover that other people pay the price that makes "Great Men".

My comment in the other thread was based on the same reaction to Steve Irwins passing. People of less profile deserve our admiration and celebration as much if not more than these two, yet receive none because of their profession, appearance or circumstance. Who cries for them online.

Mate I entirely agree with your points! I just thought that your comment was rude and somewhat offensive. By all means think what you like but also remember who your audience are and that they might take offence to your comments. (thus why your post was moderated i assume.

Just my 2cents mate but maybe something you should keep in mind.

Cheers
Matt

I remember one Targa Tassie at teh stop in Burnie over night. Peter must have been working on his car, but had to go outside to get something. And there was a heap of people, big crowd trying to get in, i were not in the crowd but inside, and Brockie was coming out, and he walked past me and everyone else, and when he got to the gate, somehow, it was like everyone stopped and just stared at the bloke as he walked, and they all just parted when he got near them and im sure no one said anything :)

Great champ in his field, its always odd to hear the big well known 'celebrities' becoming dead,
but it is what happens:arrow:

Unfortunately none of the positive pms regaring my comments ever made it online. I had no intention to offend anybody, but it happens to be that I have a tendancy to do that.

I don`t know how many of you believe in the star signs, but still--->(I`m a pisces BTW) , But anyways, Both Big Steve Irwin & Peter Perfect Brock were Pisceans also & Both killed on a piscean moon scary stuff.

Our DH mountain bike state championship race was postponed today because of a rather large mass of moisture falling from the skys-->rain, (That`s the skys tears for the loss of both Steve & Pete)

& I`m not going to go into dribbling on about all the times that Brocky & i met over the years,i am welling up as i type (again) :-( But my Targa Navigator & Extreamly good friend Robbo , send me a txt msg on friday nite, it read---> "Brocky beats Dicky to the finish Again"

& Any of you who think that`s in bad taste, then you don`t know Brocky well enough.

Ah well,,,only the good die young hey? looks like i`ll be here for a very long while

I was lucky enough to visit Peter Brock at his house and sit down with him, Bev and his PR lady (I was in melb for work and the BDM had gone to have a meeting with him, i just sat there in awe...) He was just an amazingly kind and welcoming person, he exceeded my expectations that i had of him (He is an idol for so many young aussie boys including myself)...

I didnt want to get into the whole thing about why famous people should be "famous in death", but the reason why they deserve such respect and mourning, is that they had not only an effect on so many australians, but individually they both had an amazing effect on Australia. Peter had many drive safe programms and was very active in that and also was an ambassadro for Aussie racing, While Steve did lots and lots for Australian and world wide conservation... thats why they get the specia treatment in the merdia,,,

RIP mate,

There is a lot more days than "born 4 days apart"

Oh, and Brocks birthdate is wrong as well.
