have you checked the lower inner control arm bushes for wear/play, even the lower inner control arm "pivot pin" to see if it may have come loose?

& also check the tie Bar (radius arm/ strut bar) bushes to see if they`re worn out or even the nut has come loose?

& what about checking the upper inner control arm to see if there`s play in there?

there`s more to the steering than just a steering rack

ok?,,,yeah?... good to check that stuff too?... maybe???

Oh!!! & a slap for anyone/everyone while i`m here too SLAP! :-)

Get a new rack in there asap.

My moke rack did this and I kept driving it for a bit, huge clunk in the middle when turning and a progressively larger free play movement range dead centre before the steering would kick in.

One day I was straightening the car in a carpark and the wheel just kept spinning around . God forbid that happened when I was driving. Anyway learnt my lesson and don't stuff around when the steering shows any sign of wear now.

Gotta agree with all the above....do not drive the vehicle....get it towed or fit a new rack before anything else BAD happens.

Poeee, if you don't have another rack in the little tin shed, I have one. I'll bring it with me on Wednesday.
