If you are from Sydney/Bathurst/Orange, or somewhere nearby, and you don't want to pay for the whole event (I still reckon it's very good value, but that's not the point of this post) but you would like to come up on the Saturday to have a look at the Minis, you can even bring your Mini and park it with the others at the showgrounds - and it won't cost you a thing (except petrol and lunch, but that's up to you).
That's right all Minis that come up on the saturday can park in the showgrounds at the Mini show and shine free of charge.
Now, before people who are doing the whole event complain, remember what you are getting for your money - dinner, BBQ, show, access to the race track for four days, lap of the track on Sunday morning, and entry to the museum - still damn good value.
Bob Holden is a defenite, and there are other former Mini drivers planned.
I've seen the itinerary for the weekend and the Minis are still a go on the track (crashes innthe previous race not withstanding). The tribute to Brock will not take the place of the Minis, as some people have feared, so it all looks good. We'll get to see the Minis, the Group C cars, and a feast of ex-Brock cars, and some sort of funny V8 race cars doing 161 laps.
Cheers,
Watto.
