Hi, My name is mark and I have 3 minis. My baby is the 95 rover cooper Monti Carlo, a 69 Cooper S and am restoring a sliding window 850.
I live in bendigo and this is the first time I have done anything on this site. I am a member of the Vic mini club.
What is happening at the moment?

Hey Rodney, your car looks great in the little avtar pic. Please post some pics in the members gallery section so we can check it out. Great to see another Brisbanite on here.

Hi, the name is Mark and love fangin' around in my '76' S. It's the Humble 998 spiced up with twin carbs,2" Pipes, go fast paint & Fat Sounds :) Painted it About 2yrs ago and Laced the roof to avoid having fix the footmarks. Xmas 2005 I help a mate spray his car and while we were set up I flamed it for fun  Was going to airbrush the bonnet but it's quicker and easier to Apply a Large Digital print and a coat of clear. Image is the Ninja Scroll DVD art, not very traditional but great artwork. She's been dubed "Vassy" after a Katalyst song and was at Mini muster 2006. She can be seen (& heard) most weekends on the norhtside

Another Project on the go is the restoration of a 62 cooper which I've had since about 97 (slowly but surely)

Been reading Ausmini for a week or two and had to have a snap.
Mini's are measured is smiles :)[/img]

Howdy,

Danny from Castle Hill Sydney, I have a white 1976 Clubby that's gonna get a do-over soon... Probably over the next few years knowing me :D

I've had it since April and it's a little beast - original 998 motor, and standard equipment for a pickup like this, like gutted dash, torn seats, rusted & dented panels, unmounted-sliding Kenwood CD head unit, bus steering wheel, spaghetti-stirrer-gearstick and stacks more cool stuff... But it's all good. He's my everyday car and hopefully will continue to be. This is my first Mini, but I've wanted one for about the last 12 years.

On top of the obvious work that needs to be done, I plan to give him the standard total respray, new interior, mags etc, and add some kitch tech stuff like an in dash DVD and stuff like that. Probably by the time I get around to that they'll have invented hollogram movies so I wont even need to install anything :D

When work does eventually start I'll post progress pics and reports, till then I'll enjoy looking at everyone elses projects!!

Danny.

Hi,
I'm Al from NZ with a new user name of "66S" , previously KiwiCooper. I have an English 66 Morris Cooper S in Almond green with OEW top and genuine MiniLite magnesium mags.

Regards
Al

Hey all, my name is Paul. I have had a Mini K for about 2 years now. I live in Queanbeyan NSW. (so I may have to chat to you one day Ben about your spares) I happened across this forum whilst looking for information about hydrolastic suspension. I should say at this point that my Mini knows more about me than I know about it.

It is a GTO Green / White 1969 Mini K but is registered as 1964 Mini. It has a 1310cc Cooper S engine, mild cam, unleaded head conversion and 45mm Webber. It has 3 into 1 extractors, 2 inch exhaust system with stainless steel muffler.

Now all that's said, can someone point me to the correct place to find out how to 1. tell if my Mini has hydrolastic suspension and 2. if so, how to pump it back up, or replace the fluid or what ever has to happen to stop the tyres hitting the guards.

Thanks. I think I'm gunna like it here.

Welcome Paul...to tell if you have a hydro car...just look either side of your front suspension towers under the bonnet...if you see large black hoses going into the top of the towers...then you probably have hydro.

Pump-ups can be done by Melba Mtrs over at Belconnen if you don't mind crossing the border.

Thanks for the fast reply 9YaTaH. I really appreciate it. I rushed out to my Mini and checked it out and yep, I have a hydro car. Do you know if they make house calls cause I really don't want to drive it from Queanbeyan to Belconnen with the guards hitting the tyres the way it does.

You can drive it like that slow (up to 30 MPH=46Km/H)....I don't know anyone who does house calls except ACT Mini Car Club people and then usually for other members.

If it has wide whells and tyres they will rub on the arches. I know the book says the car can be driven to the dealer at 35mph but the book didn't know about flares.

I have made my own pump out of a master cylinder. If you are going to muck around with the car it could be handy to make your own.

Yes it does have flares. Think I might try to swing a free tow with the NRMA. Afterall it is broken down and I can't drive it.

They will probably want to take you to Morwood Motors in Fyshwick....closer...trouble is they are winding up Mini operations

Go visit Classic Motoring in Wollongong Street while you are waiting
