It's still the best etch primer for when painting alloy... boat shops sell it in spray cans. 8)

Hmmm well it is supposed to be off the shelves as it is up there with poly benzine and beryllium. We still find it on ships when we chip and paint and when we do, the dockyard goes into a flat spin and quarantines the entire ship

I love it as it sticks to anything and NOTHING rusts...

I have 4 litres in the garage just quietly...lol(international paints)

Could be right, it's not listed in my Bias Boating catalog now- I've not bought it for a while, but do have a couple of cans (made in USA) from my friendly Evinrude dealer.. 8)

The purists (no, not me!) would say not original  ....
Hang onto the 1275LS block though, in case you ever sell the car...

Sorry to say Doc but the old motor coming out of the LS is a BLACK 998 and as for being a purist, never been that with Mini's at anytime as I like to make them to fit my personality...

This engine has been bored out to 1029cc.
It has new ACL pistons, cam bearings, double row timing chain and a performance cam of *282* specs fitted and new main and big end bearings fitted. Balanced & blueprinted..

The head is a 12G202 and has been unleaded treated and has had some work done to it.. Also being fitted is a Pulsar dissy, Bosch GTR-40 coil, Gemini starter motor and an electric fuel pump..

WooHooo, just picked up the LS with the new motor in it from the garage. Tho it has only done about 50K's and still very tight, the difference from the old standard 998 to the new one is quite noticable. :D

Have to watch the revs as it will pull over 5000rmp without even trying.. I will take it for a good long run soon then get into fitting the fronts seats I have for it...

Took the LS out for a bit of a run today, only around 45K's but even tho the motor is still new (now done 100k's) it is smooth and quite a bit more nippier that the old standard 998..

It is now a car that is a real pleasure to drive because it has just that bit more get up and be gone....
