Hi my mini is leaking fuel from what i believe is the pump (not sure) it has two pipes going into the top, on the top it has 2 black circles one with a '+' and the otehr with a '-'.

To me it looks like it is comming up through the top of that (like lid is broken or something) I have replaced the pipes and tightened all the pipe clamps to make sure they are not leaking, but have concluded it is that thing...

I would like to know what that thing is and if it is a common problem. And of course how to fix :D

Sorry can't get a picture you will just have to try and understand what I am saying :P

All help appreciated, Thanks Ian :)

That sounds like it already has an electric fuel pump. + being positive and the - being negative for the motor inside the pump. Where abouts on the car is this thing located?

if its a mechanical fuel pump you can take it off, pull it apart and clean it out, and put it back together with fresh gaskets.

If its leaking from the top cover....replace the gasket.

You shouldn't have to remove it from the block....that gasket would be leaking oil.
