Well the intercooler has arrived and should be on the car by Monday all thigns being unequal. Got the braided lines just need to be cut to length. Will order the rest of the silicon bends and that should be the turbo and intercooler sorted. Getting pretty close to being back on the road. Then off to the dyno!!

Andy, 450w x 250h x 50mm thick. Will more than cope with the 200hp max rating I am looking at. Yeah very professional job. Now I just have to mount it!

Yeah me too Dan.

I think we should start a wager to see who can correctly guess Matt's power gain (as a percentage) over his stocko 4EFTE.

Me, I think it should be a round the 35% mark.

Anyone else??

jee's that actuator only just squeezes in to!! nice fit, manifold looks like its going to flow well!! oh where abouts are you putting the cooler? front mount styles? :D

Thanks guys. Yeah it will be front mounted (see photo). Starting to get close, need to create the cross braces to support the intercooler, make the intercooler pipe to the plenum, install the radiator and create a new mount for the alternator and that should be it. Also completed installation of the RRFPR. On the hp front, when I got it dyno'd it put out 95bhp atw with the tired CT9 making 6-7psi. I will be aiming for about 13-14 psi from the new turbo, I have bought a manual boost controller so that should arrive monday hopefully. So yeah anything around the 150bhp atw will be brilliant, wait and see I guess.

Matt, that means you have to pull 128.25 fwhp if I am close.

I think I may be shy of the mark and have to revise my estimate.

Andy, one thing that is missing is the fact that with a large turbo in addition to increasing your psi you also get an large increase in total volum as well hence the increase is not necessarily 1:1 but slightly hypergeometric? Or so I have been told. I think the final figure is hard to determine. I might post a thread on AU Starlet as there are few guys there who seem to know the mathematical stuff...How did you get the figure of 128?

Hi Matt,

I used the summation of the following:

Percentage increase in compressor output over standard (as a volume)
plus:
Percentage increase in charge density with FMIC over std (both using an ambient base-line)
plus:
Percentage increase in boost pressure over standard figuring that at 1 bar you get double the horsepower less temp temp derating factor and added frictional loss

And there I came up with 35.5% over existing.

Yeah Brad have a FCD. I think it could be a real eye opener or a complete shocker. Should be at the dyno in a month. I think 140 is probably the most likely figure, unless there is something hugely wrong with the engine.
