Tait is the youngest looking person - the one with frizzy hair.
Aaron is the big dark haired bloke
Doogie is the gingerish haired person with side burns and doing most of the mechanical work.
Scot is the short haired person helping lift out the old engine.
Graham is one of the yet unidentified people in the photographs.
Storm is the site manager.
I am the bespectacled bearded person holding the ball joint breaking tool.

It was truely good to be part of such a good working team and even better to catch up with every one.

Gee, I told you guys......

I wasn't there...... you didn't see me!! 8) 8)

He He :P , got there at 10 on Sat and the engine was out in a thousand pieces, then after that, every hour or so, the phone rang for the next bit required !!

Sorry I mised some of the highlights, Doogies Brown Eye?? Did anyone get a picture?? :P

Doogies hand brake failure?? or was that a wind up he he! :D

Excellent effort, especially Mike for being kind enough to kick the whole thing into action, I'd say the motor is a little beauty! I drove it up and around the block after we tweaked the clutch and mixture and it was fine!! 8)

The smile on Taits face said it all; he reckons it goes so much better than the old 3 cylinder one!! :P

Thanks to everyone, really my input was minimal, but I enjoyed it !!

Graham

hey everyone...

Peter and Sandra here, (taits parents)

we are greatly amazed how kind and enthusiastic the members of the ausmini club are. A special thankyou to Mike and Gina, Doogie, Aaron, Scott, Graham and everyone else we borrowed things to use...

its great to know that you can still rely on your neighbour and do a good turn for each other. Tait is already talking about having a go fixing up the old motor and doing a good turn for someone else who has killed their motor like he did. ( damn p-plater )

my 12yr old daughter is now seeking counselling as a result of Doogie's third eye.

so to everyone that helped , thank you ....

Coming to my defence, it was only a bit of plumbers crack, no actual eye.

Hay, it's not about the car, it's not about the venue, it's about the people that come here. Peter Dwyer, Mayor of Hay NSW.

hahaha
yeah I know Doogie - Madison was talking about it over dinner on Saturday night. Regina and I were extremely well fed there. She was actually made to feel a grown up because someone (a stranger) actually treated her like one by a pseudo brown eye.

If there was some real substance to anything unpleasant or a bad taste event then it certainly wouldn't be widely broadcast. It was just a humerous incident in a fun filled, entertaining and very productive day. And yes Madison did say that her first brown eye really was just a bit of plumbers crack.

Well done guys. Nothing like a bit of mateship!

I love that bling engine colour!

Is it from the White Knight range of hammertone paints?

Yes it is one of the White Knight hammertone blues.

Tait's place has a fairly steep incline down the front yard. All the painting was done either on the driveway or the grass in the front yard. After the painting was done, we all went and had a BBQ lunch to let the paint dry before we lifted the engine back in. After lunch, Scott came wandering up with a bling blue starter motor that had rolled down the grassy incline and was covered in grass clippings.

It became a less bling silver starter motor.
