Alrighty next up for removal is a bit more "character" (rust) in the lower and rear quarter panels (pic's below).

So should i try and get a donor section off another car or just put a patch of sheet in there - my biggest hesitasion is the little lip that the chrome goes onto.

What have other people done ??

i used a small patch on one side. Just migged it in real slow, I hit the welds with compressed air in between bursts to cool it down to keep warpage to a minimum. The other side that was not quite so bad so I just wired wheeled the rust off, treated it with rust converter and filled in the holes with the mig. Nice and slow as per other side.
:o
