According to GR the RE13 is a bit much for small bore street engine. If you have a chat to him you will find he has other grinds more suitable for the street.

There are 3 versions of the RE13..
one for smallbores
one for big bores
one for turbos.
I've run a 731, a Camtech VP3, and an RE13 one after the other in the same spec 1310 (fast road spec), with standard S rockers:
The RE13 had more midrange than either of the others, bottom end just as good as the 731, top end similar to the VP3.
The VP3 had a good top end, better midrange than the 731, but lousy at bottom end (compared to the others).
The 731 was pretty lazy at the top end, midrange not that great either...
In summary, I'd say the 731 was the cam for all seasons back in the 60s, but the RE13 eclipses it.
I've driven RE13 also in various 1098s, no way would I say it's too much for a daily traffic driver.
