That rear parcel shelf is a structural panel though - suposed to be unwise cutting big oval holes in it.

In NZ at least, you can fit speakers to the parcel shelf, but not leave the holes empty - which I think is weird as it implies the speakers perform some kind of crumple zone or protection in a crash. Or you can weld strengthening straps of steel around the holes.

Are you sure about that? I'm an approved vehicle inspector (amaongst other things) and I've not heard of that one. So far as I know, holes in a parcel shelf are now a no-no, speakers or not.

Spaceboy, you did an amazing paint job in such a short time, on your car, looks great!

Two metallic silver stripes from end to end would look great, make sure it goes from under the bumpers throught the grille, across the roof then down the back to below the bumper sure would look even better! :D Nice job tho..But about speakers....I didn't know that..oh no, I have to get my car inspected sometime before july of enxt year for silly insurance reasons, I'm not happy, I know I'll fail but now I know that I can't fix the problem..dammit, at least the speakers sound good 8)

I certainly hope so...neways Adelaide transport people are slack if you've been here and seen the shitheaps that are still on the road then you'd understand, if you haven't then imagine a family riding in a faded red 1983 commodore wagon with 'ventilation' holes of rust through the door with continuous black smoke out the exhaust and dents in all four door without a working indicator light to be found. Ahhhh, Adelaide..I couldn't imagine it any other way!

It's up to you really. But i've seen black on vertical stripes I liked it, you obviously wouldn't like it.
