Yes it does have flares. Think I might try to swing a free tow with the NRMA. Afterall it is broken down and I can't drive it.

They will probably want to take you to Morwood Motors in Fyshwick....closer...trouble is they are winding up Mini operations

Go visit Classic Motoring in Wollongong Street while you are waiting

If they are winding it up then maybe they still have the hydro pump??

If it has wide whells and tyres they will rub on the arches. I know the book says the car can be driven to the dealer at 35mph but the book didn't know about flares.

I have made my own pump out of a master cylinder. If you are going to muck around with the car it could be handy to make your own.

Well I suppose Paul could always fit a set of skinny standards if that is the case  With no violent sharp turns he should be OK.

I haven't got any skinny standards. I think it will have to be a tow truck but thanks for the info and suggestions. I really appreciate it.

Hi, Im Craig

It's great to share the love of Mini's with so many people.
Im restoring two at the moment:
71 Mini K
64 Mini Minor 850

Both cars are waiting to be painted in acrylic, and I would appreciate any feedback on good quality brands that people have used.

Happy motoring!! :D

G'Day All,

I'm Glen in Mandurah WA, I'm really excited :D I get my mini delivered tomorrow arvo, it was the one for sale a few weeks ago by dr gonzo (Hi dr gonzo!).

I'll tell you more about it when I get it.
I'll just be finishing off the cooper touches with the side decals and pin stripes and white wing mirrors.

I've also had a 1978 clubman 1100 in the UK which I abandoned at my mums house in 1998 when I came out to aus, and learn't to drive in my sisters GT (with real holes in the floor). My old baby was eventually given to one of my friends, but soon finally i'm whole again.

Hopefully talk more about it soon!

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the welcome and request for photos of my Minis which I will post as soon as I can. At present they are both looking real shmik in their primer grey duco, with the Minor totaly stripped to a bare shell and the K requiring a bare metal stripdown as the previous owner has primed over an unsound base. I am still deciding on the colours for these cars, but my colours of choice at the moment are as follows:

Toga White (original spec to both cars)
Special Burgundy
New Cedar Green
Smoke Grey

What do you think of my choices?

Thanks again for the welcome and interest in my cars.

Craig :D

Hi everyone...

Me, well what is there to say...

I'm from the UK, been into Mini's for a good few years now (having converted from MG's!).

Current Mini started off life as a Brown 998cc Mini City (1987), when I picked it up it was already a yellow mini with 1275 engine, Corbeau bucket seats, 7x13 Starmags, sportspack arches and DTM Exhaust...

Now has a different 1275 engine, MG Head, LCB, raft of Welding! and is just about to embark on a major bit of body resto. (new front end, Sills and Boot floor is going into her!!!). I've a full interior just waiting to get into it... should be ready for this in a few weeks.

Other interests Rugby League, babes and gadgets (in no particular order, depends on the mood  )

You can thank speedy for unleashing me on you... he gave me the link to here ;)

Great site btw...
