Ok. Erins car is still in the old 'red' but still needs rubbing back before being primed. I think all of the bumps, rust etc have been fixed. It's a shell ie no windows, doors, boot lid, interior, bonnet (but we do have all this stuff).

She wants to have her car painted silver so I think black or dark primer is needed.

Anyways, my garage is 2 cars wide by 2 cars long - i have power and lights in there.

A painting education day would be brilliant for quite a lot of us.

Lets let this develop and see what happens.

Cheers

Any primer can be used (pink blue red white whatever) Silver is a great coverer 2 coats of base silver and you should have full coverage, then a pattern coat to ensure even metalic coverage and no mottling ( blotching) and then your ready for clear....

hey.. it sounds like something may come of this which is cool

I really would like someone with the knowledge of mini mike to be there but we will have to see what happens. I think someone that is a pro would have a whole kitty of hints and tips like above. Will have to see what happens.
It sounds like erins car is not ready to be painted for a little while. I need to get some cash together for supplies and so forth before attacking my beast.

She looks nice....the photos hide a multitude of imperfections though :) The roof Looks crap.

Might take some snaps today to show you all I am not a whinger and a perfectionist :)

A weekend to suit everybody....hmmmm

Well, for me, it's a bit tricky because of alternating shifts - plus every weekend has stuff on it between now and Christmas. So how about we do this in January...maybe the weekend of the 6th and/or 7th??? That's the first weekend in January next year.

Any takers????
