I have seen a similar thing - Steve from Brickworx used a hole about 2" in diameter, and a large pipe bend to some good effect.

Seemed to work - His 998, drum brake car was quicker around Mallala than my 1293, disc brake car.....

It's kinda interesting having an insurance company tell you to weld brake components?

corporations have no faces, but the people workin for them do!

This sounds like an interesting idea

how do you weld a pipe to your brake backplate, with you steering the wheels and all?

i wonder how effective it is

PS where is the online insurance quote thing ? i cant find it

weld an elbow on it, then use flex tube to a front air duct.

Oh but if you want it to STOP too, you better bin the local asbestos free rebonded shoes and find some decent ones. Mintex, or whatever... 8)

if the pipe faces the front, would water get into it? that would be a worry

Yes yes yes yes
Just dont take it swimming with you.

Actually, I dont think that heat in a drum brake set up is the major problem. I think its more a case of mini drum brakes not being up to scratch when compared to modern brakes.

I would be very suprised if the air cooler actually made any noticable difference to braking efficiency.
