Why would you want a wing in the back of a mini? Are you getting too much wheelspin?
Lets face it they are just an ugly form of ballast. 8)

Its like wearing a baseball cap backwards for your mini.

Wouldn't it be funny, (not for the owner) if the car topped at 199kph, took the wing off and did 210 or so...I don't think you could go over 200 with a wing...Now if it were a plane that's another story....

didn't think of that, anyways i would give anyone the thumbs up for even getting close to 200 in a mini! That would be scary!

nope never have, with or without a spoiler.

As you go through the transition from downforce to no downforce (as speed decreases) you actually make a car unstable. This rapid decrease in downforce over a very small speed range (about 10-15kmh) promotes wheel lockup by rapidly decreasing the load on the tyre.

Cars should be designed for aero from the ground up not have it tacked on with no consideration to physics or aerodynamics.

A spoiler on a car with a sudden drop off, as in a hatch back or mini, will do stuff all for downforce, but may do someting for cd, by moving the draggy dirty air frm the back of the car as long as it sits reasonably flat to the body. A big airfoil sitting in the airflow may give you downforce but a lot of drag.

I went to the end of the speedo one night, (speedo is 160kph) but rpm was cranked! I then eased of the throttle and slowly applied brake. Never again but I was in a hooning mood at the time. Mallala would be a good place to have fun with high speed, I also want to get a mini drag day going. I know mini's make crap imes but hey it's for fun, just like dyno day!

well there are a few minis doing very respectable times around mallala
i dont think the straight is long enough to get that kind of speed though.
150 on a highway is one thing, 130kph on norton summit road is another.
