this might be stupid, but did all GT's have the stripes????
I love the stripes, they look so 70's.....mmmmmm GT.

i think they were a factory option? dunno gt will know

another question - what wheels did they come with?? contestas wouldnt have been the stock wheels

GTs came out with Fergat 8 slot steels, 10x4.5.
A `Rostyle' type wheel- almost same as a Clubby S, but with 8 slots not 4.

there was a Delete option for the GT Stripes.
Dad's old Cadiz GT didn't have the stripes but current owner Bob Ward has put the stripes on.

There was one that I saw, inside the pavillion, next to the apparel stand.
Yellow and white from memory.

If you are restoring a Leyland Mini and want that original look, you need to liberally spash that glue around when you are fitting your trim. Don't be afraid to get that yellow-ish glue all over everything EXCEPT that which you want to glue down

....and I agree about the "better than factory standard" thing. A LOT of restored cars are better than factory standard.

I know it's rare, but what's the point of having an awesome looking car in storage for 8 years.

I can understand this. A simple answer - marriage, house, mortage, kids, school fees etc, etc.

I have this Mk II S which hasn't seen the light of day in 10+ years.

Hopefully it will be back on the road soon. On historic rego.
