Yep.

Being Wayne's wife I get to say 'I' own it as well

I'd love to see it back on the road as it was but to have it on Club Plates it has to near to stock standard. No Turbo, no chrome bling.

It was pretty high tech for when it was built in 1990. It probably doesn't compare to the high tech turbo Mins these days. It was a real treat to drive - smooth, powerful and easy to control.

Ahh , ok , sorry about that , last I spoke to any of the Whitcombe clan Wayne had just bought it so I was trying to remember if you were a daughter or daughter in-law .... I remember it being very impressive when Wayne got it , loved the subtle bonnet bulge .

Sadly it has no bulges any more.

Yes - it did look good.

I'm sure our club plate regestrar can be bought Jules - Maybe register it as a competition car!! All you would need for it to be above board anyway is to find an old magazine with reference to a turbo mini then it can classify as a "Period Modification". I'm sure SOMEBODY would have to have done it somewhere back in the day??? I"d love to see it on the road as the turbo - and I'm sure you would too!! 8)

I know it's rare, but what's the point of having an awesome looking car in storage for 8 years.

Shard

I can understand this. A simple answer - marriage, house, mortage, kids, school fees etc, etc.

I have this Mk II S which hasn't seen the light of day in 10+ years.

Hopefully it will be back on the road soon. On historic rego.

And 12 hour shifts too!!!

Yes Emm, i was lucky enough to judge that car with Anton, i had to hold the bucket under Anton's mouth to catch the bow wave of dribble coming out of him.

It was the car of the show for me, closely followed by the red clubby with the starlet motor, it is the ULTIMATE sleeper

yep - my fav at the show too. very friendly chap! there were a few GTs there - from memory, a bold as brass yellow fella, a green non-striped one, a cadiz version, a red beauty and at least one gt in the car park - another gambier turquoise one. this was good too - had a longman head, big twin SUs and the guy was nice to chat to as well. I quite liked the cadiz (orange) one with bronze stripes sat quietly on the back wall in the marquee - very original looking, with faded bodywork and trim - had a real `patina' as they say.......
