Current thinking is no, not needed- there have been cases in UK lately of the heads coming off sodium filled ones..
Good race quality S/S ones are the go, according to most turbo jocks.
Main mod to a head for turbo use (apart from porting & valves) is get some volume into the chambers. Around 28cc is usually needed (stock is 21.4cc) to get the C/R down to around 8.0:1.

Stainless here my friend......

I've got a 12G202 on a 998 Turbo, and I've still got a fair amount to take out of my chambers.... i'm developing it as i go.....

The main aim is to minimise detonation, while maximising chamber filling....
I'm going to remove the "beak" next time, i still feel that its a "hot-spot" .....

Good Luck!!
J
