Hey Anton, can you show me a pic by any chance?? Does the centre binnacle fit into the original location? does the speedo work?

Yes I am ripping all the cabling out of the bay, master cylinders and all brackets to redo the whole firewall as per above picture so I plan to do whatever it takes to re-rout the cables out of the way.

The intake is 5.5inches long, plus about 5mm for the soft mount kit, plus the 45dellorto, plus I want to run a filter which is probably going to be short ram tubes with socks over the top.

Apparently Greig Malure at Mini Classic has a webber with ram tubes with a HUGE 7inch manifold and it clears the speedo no worries. So i guess I have 1.5 inches over him which shoul be enough to run socks over the top

I spoke to Graham this morning and he and I have decided that this project is a Goer! I will do initial measurements and run the dyno again with the long intake (didn't have one ready to test on saturday).

The biggest question I have for everyone is: I have heard of right angle speedo cables (right angle into the speedo). Anyone ever seen one of these or know of where I can find out more info?

3006 Yeah...
I'll need to get another box made up for my new setup.

Chong... I can organise it etc ; we'll be running the same setups (cept mine will be Weber not Dellorto) ... do you want me to get them to make two not one?
Or if you're doing yours sooner, can you order two and I'll pay you for one

Cheers

Yeah sure, again are you talking about the speedo cable or the box??? :?

If speedo right angles cabe then yes buy 2 and I will pay you for one.

I will be custom building my box, maybe a trapezoidal design so that it tucks in under the binnacle then space the binnacle out 1 inch and run the right angle adapter. It should all fit!

Yeah don't worry about buying a webber box, I will make out of of sheet metal and weld (I have graham's equipment remember!) I think I will get him to teach me how to weld :P

Anyway get your hands on those right angle cable brackets!

Spacers, i will just use BMC 1 inch binnacle spacers :P Custom made I should think. Maybe out of wood even, doesn't matter as it is going being the binnacle which will be hidden by cooper dash cards. You won't even notice that they are out further.

Barney's centre binnacle is out slightly about 1 inch and i didn't notice until i looked carefully
