Seems to me there is probably a need for such a forum on Ausmini (any mods listening??).

One of our friends from the B.M.C. Leyland Australia Heritage Group contacted me the other day asking about Paddy Hopkirk racing downunder for a fella in the Old Dart writing a book.

I (with help from Morris 1100) was able to answer every question he had cept most of them!!

1965 Armstrong 500 Bathurst car no.? = 30c

1966 Gallaher 500 Bathurst place? = retired with engine failure

1966 Southern Cross Rally car no? 37, Paddy came 3rd in Improved Prod 1301-200 with G. Chapman

1967 Southern Cross rally car no?

1967 Gallaher 500 Bathurst car no? = 28c

Googling was NBG.....so

any old Mini Rally nuts out there know the final answer??

if you can justify a need for such an extra forum, then it shal be made....

what kinda things would go in there??
old pics, movies, trivia etc????

second thoughts... if anyone can find me a decent clip of smokey rhodes screaming round the track... I'll add the forum right now

sounds like a good idea to me tzi........... I mean anyone who competes in events can post pics results etc.....and anyone interested in getting involved can get an idea of what they'd be themselves into

I've got at least a coupla threads that I'd start in it already :)

Errrgh, I don't think I am gunna try and justify anything.........it was just an idea where I thought there was a need.

I personally think it would be great to have a place to discuss Mini Motorsport. So if enough people agree with me like Thommo then I suppose it might fly.....

and as for OLD!! you callin ne old!! No didn't mean a nostalgia thing specifically, there is plenty of that on the net....but as a fer instance...we have Ausminiers currently racing in Historics (HistoricRacingS for example) ....over to you and others :D

The cheap, reject shop, go-lo style of shops sometimes have rare and wonderful videos. I got my copy of Mini Goes Racing (1961 to 1967) and it shows Mr Rhodes and Mr Hopkirk and Cristobel Carlisle and a whole lot of others and a sneak view of our Jack Brabham at the Mini races!!

All for $10!!!!!!!!!!

Produced by PP Video Productions
The Storehouse, Little Hereford Street, Bromyard,
Herefordshire, HR7 4DE
Tel 0885 488800/483012

1993

(pity cause I think Monaro is probably on a plane back to Oz now - he could have taken orders including for Tzi
