Don't know abour throwing it away - there for a reason - just put the wires on the other side of it to what you have it

Thanks guys, i am positive that i have screwed it up after changing the points and its grounding out before the condenser actualy does anything. Wont be able to touch the car for a few days but i am positive thats the problem. Will get those components properly insulated.

Another question, do mini's have a balast resitor to the coil?? After reparing a half melted loom, we had to hard wire the coil from the ignitiion but if it needs a balast resistor and dosent have one i could be heading for more problems.

If anyone knows, i'd love to know too.

Thanks to all who had reoplied. Turns out when i did the points a wile back i had not put the rubber grommit back on correctly and the condenser was grounding out before it got a chance to do its job. It is running now but the timing is up s*%t creek so that will be the next challenge.

Thanks again everyone, this one really did my head in (oh well, it a mini)
