The Quandt family that owns the majority of BMW are originally Dutch, from the same family as William of Orange, future king of England. Therefore the BINI is English and royal with it.

Whilst William Morris is of German discent, making the mini german.

William of Orange was never really considered English even by his most loyal subjects and anyway his line ended with him as he had no children, the current Windsor dynasty being Hanoverian in origin, so at most BMW could be considered Dutch (though I suspect they'd rather be German).

The interior is bloody incredible - that open gear shift and the propeller steering wheel - just that wonky horn button is kinda crap.

I've got that manual I think. The bloke who sold us the clubby gave us a DVD of various mini manual he'd...err.... aquired. And there is a mini turbo in it. One for ERA turbo thing and another, interestingly has a section on Metro turbo engined mini's. Probably due to the popularity of that mod, they have a section on it which is mostly jsut aobut Metro Turbo engine but shows a diagram on it in a mini enginebay :? ....Anyways...but why the BINI in the pic?

Who built the last (real) Minis? Rover.
Who owned Rover when they built the last Minis? BMW.

So BMW did build Minis. 8)

Most likely, but I got a Haynes (I think, I'd have to check, it's on my dad's computer) that incudes ERA Turbo mini, but this manual also has all metro's too. Quite useful, if you own one...
