Howdy,

Got these photos from Graham.
This motor has 165ft/lb of torque from 4200RPM
It increased to 178ft/lb @ 7000RPM and the correction factor was 1.029 (so 244HP!!)

There was a slight prroblem with a sticky solenoid... the solenoid sticking caused the boost to bump up to 21.8psi and it produced 186ft/lb before the throttle cable was released! Graham dumped the throttle cable.

Pics:

Cheers,
Peter.[

Won't be very fast with that torque and an A-series box.

BL reckoned on 94 as the "warranty" limit for metro turbo, hench the electronic boost limiting.

Looks like an interesting set-up, go the A-series.

Daniel
PS - What correction factor was used? SAE?

Graham said it's a Rover or UK shell with a Zeemax kit, so yeah it does.
A hole or 2 may be needed for intercooler etc but yes the turbo & plumbing fits up into a standard bay. No `turbo box' required. 8)

Some real work has gone into this puppy.....

Well Warwick Agustin has campaigned a fast race Mini for many years with a Toyota 4-AGE? chain driving a Mini box, he duels with the VTEC Minis like Borg's out there and it doesn't shed boxes...

A 4 synchro Mini box will stand 180+ HP, for how long IS the question. This turbo beast is in a road car so probably won't get caned after the initial euphoria. 8)

The correction factor used is for air temp ( & maybe humidity?) and barometric pressure on the day.

Engines are run complete with exhaust system, but minus the alternator and fan. Tank cooling is used.

That is an intricate & well set up turbo.
Awesome figures, hope it justifies the dollars spent 8)

been wondering when that thing was going on the dyno, its been sitting there for ages.

Warwick broke a drive shaft at the last meeting at Wakefield. it lasted 15 years, and was a modified Morris 1100 item. That is the first breakage that he has had in 15 years in the drive train. mind you it has a holinger straight cut gearset in it. i remember him getting real excited when it arrived at his workshop during the build of that little beast.

cheers
michael
